Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced the candidates of “The 2015 National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project”, which includes 46 experts from key universities directly under the Ministry of Education. Two SDU professors, Wu Zheng from School of Mathematics and Zhang Yurong from School of Life Science, are selected into the project, and entitled as “Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions”. So far, the number of SDU experts involved in the project has amounted to 28.
Launched in 1995, The National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project is a nationwide collaboration among seven state departments (Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, etc.), sticking to the demands for advancement of science and technology as well as economic and social development. The project selects and cultivates highly qualified young and middle-aged scholars in the cutting-edge field of science and technology, with the ambition aim to make breakthroughs in critical areas. At the same time, the project also takes a leading role in improving the selecting and training system for high-level innovative talents, and promoting the team construction of high-level professionals.
