On March 11, the famous American charitarian Kenneth Eugene Behring who is also an honorary professor of Shandong University and president of Behring Global Educational Foundation visited the Qingdao campus of SDU. SDU President Zhang Rong met with the delegation and signed an agreement about the donation of animal samples, which says that Behring Global Educational Foundation will donate hundreds of rare animal samples to SDU and prepare to conduct World Animal Show of Behring in the museum of the Qingdao campus. Vice president Zhang Yongbing also attended relevant events.

During the meeting, President Zhang Rong introduced the development of the construction of the Qingdao campus and expressed his thanks for the long-term concerns and generous donation from Behring Global Educational Foundation. He was certain that the donation this time will enrich the collections of the museum in the Qingdao campus, popularize the idea of coordination between human beings and nature, and spread the idea of public welfare to SDU teachers and students. Mr Behring said that the construction of the Qingdao campus will bring positive changes and effects to local people. He also mentioned that Behring Global Educational Foundation was honored to be a partner of SDU and looked forward to further cooperation in the future. The donation to the Qingdao campus intended to offer education opportunities to SDU teachers and students in SDU as well as local people through an immersive experience with animals and nature.
After the meeting, both parties signed an agreement about the donation of animal samples. Zhang Yongbing introduced to Mr Behring and his delegation the design and construction of the Qingdao campus and the museum. Responsible officials of the Department of International Affairs, the museum and the Construction Headquarters Office of the Qingdao campus of SDU attended relevant events.
Kenneth Eugene Behring is a renowned American entrepreneur and philanthropist, who has thrice been in the list of the Forbes 400. He became an honorary professor of Shandong University in October, 2013. In 2014, his autobiography Road to Leadership: Finding a Life of Purpose was published by Shandong University Press, co-translated by Translation Department of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature and the Chinese Department of School of Literature.
