Recently, the homepage of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) has announced its Fellow list of 2021. Professor Chen Feng from the School of Physics at SDU is one of the 72 newly-elected fellows.

SPIE is a non-profit professional society dedicated to advancing the scientific research and engineering applications of optics and photonicsand electronics. Each year, only a few optical scientists from around the world with significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging are elected as Fellows after their nomination by a group of senior scholars and strict process.The Society has named around 1,500 SPIE Members as Fellows since 1955. Prof. Chen was named in recognition of his contributions in the fields of crystal waveguide structures and devices as well as ultrafast laser micro-nano machining.
