Recently, the 43rd ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM/ICPC) Asia Regional Contest ended in which 11 teams from ACM Laboratory ofSDU won 6 gold,3 silver and 3 bronze medals, making a historic breakthrough on gold medal records.
Enjoys a reputation as "Olympics of Computing Software", this contest aims to foster creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. More than 300 universities nationwide such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University participated in this contest. Teams that won gold medals accounted for no more than 10% of all teams, with silver prizes less than 20% and bronze medals less than 30%.
Team members of SDU come from the School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Software and School of Mathematics. The SDU ACM Laboratory was co-founded by the School of Computer Science and Technology and School of Software, aiming to strengthen students' hands-on practice and cultivate innovative talents and focusing on training students to master knowledge in data structure, algorithm design, combinatorial mathematics, computational geometry, basic number theory and other aspects.
