In order to accelerate the construction of the main campus of Shandong University, Shandong University signed the "Framework Agreement on the Construction of the Main Campus" with Jinan government on Feb. 27, 2017.

Based on full communication and negotiation, the two parties reached a consensus on the issues including the site selection of the plot west to the Xiuyuan River of Zhangqiu district and the construction of the supporting facilities.

Both sides regard the signing of this agreement will open a brand new course of cooperation between the university and government to seek common development and win-win cooperation.

For the development of SDU, constructing the main campus is a precious opportunity by the current time and trend which will solve the dilemma of multi-campus education, reduce running cost, promote interdisciplinary integration, improve quality of personnel training and lay a solid foundation for the construction of world first-class university and realize sustainable development.

For the development of Jinan, the construction of the main campus is a wise step to achieve win-win cooperation in which the main campus will participate along with the development of Jinan at the largest degree, playing a bigger role for development, industrial innovation and social progress of Jinan.
