On November 11th, Hwang Seon-hye, President of Sookmyung Women's University, led a five-member delegation to visit Shandong University. Lou Hongxiang, Vice-president of SDU, met with these South Korean guests.
Lou extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and briefly introduced SDU’ history, education, and strategy for internationalization.
He said SDU attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, which will benefit the exchange of teachers and cultivation of students, as well as promote the teaching and scientific research of both universities. Shandong Province is geographically close to South Korea, and the exchange projects between SDU and universities of South Korea were frequent and fruitful.
He expects that exchanges in the fields of student-cultivation and research work will be enhanced in the future.
Hwang Seon-hye expressed her pleasure to visit SDU, and said that it was the first Chinese university she had visited as president.
She said the Sookmyung Women's University, with a history of over 100 years, was also devoted to becoming the top university of the world. Sookmyung Women's University attaches great importance to its internationalization strategy and the cooperation with SDU.
She hoped both universities could carry out the student exchange projects and scientific research as soon as possible.
Zou Nan, Director of SDU’s Department of International Affairs, and persons in charge form School of Economics, School of Fine Arts and School of Management, also attended the meeting.
During the visit, the delegation of Sookmyung Women's University had a working conference on exchange of students, teachers and culture with related officials of SDU.
