The closing ceremony (namely the award party) of the 6th Foreign Culture Festival, sponsored by the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, was held on the central campus of SDU.

The Foreign Culture Festival is a platform for exchange and communication for the Chinese students and international students both studying in SDU. The 6th Foreign Culture Festival, the slogan of which is “Time to change,” was held by the School of Foreign Languages and Literature. The performers from University of Jinan and Jinan Foreign Language School (JFLS) were invited to show their talents.

Various activities in different languages showing the student’s physical and mental development, knowledge, and communication skills were held, including competitions, lectures, seminars, and displays of work. Before the ceremony, video clips reviewing activities of the Foreign Culture Festival were played. Then, David, an Australian international student from the School of Medicine, who was one of the hosts, declared the beginning of the ceremony. David’s fluent Chinese and humorous hosting style brought an outburst of laughter among the audiences. Ms. Wang Junju, Dean of School of Foreign Languages and Literature, delivered a speech in English, expressing her praise for the festival and her hope for the bright future of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature. Afterward, many excellent performances were shown, like beautiful foreign language songs, movie dub show, foreign literature recitation and chorus.

At the end of the festival, Wang Hao, Vice Director of SDU’s Department of Student Affair of SDU, Prof. Gao Di from SDU’s School of Foreign Languages and Literature, School leaders of JFLS, professors of SDU’s School of Foreign Language and Literature, and foreign teachers, presented prizes to the winners.
