On May 18th, Shandong University President Xu Xianming met with a delegation led by Prof. Park Bum Hoon, the former President of Chung-Ang University, as well as the current Senior Secretary for Education and Culture, Office of the President, Republic of Korea, and Honorary Doctorate Recipient of Shandong University.

They exchanged opinions on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea and mutual collaboration. Fang Hongjian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shandong University and Hwang Seunghyeon, Consul General of Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao, also attended the meeting.

Xu Xianming pointed out that this year was the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, which was a great event deserving commemoration and celebration. A joint performance，which would be held at SDU to celebrate the anniversary, was the collaborative effort between staff and students at SDU, Sungkyunkwan University and Chung-Ang University. It was an opportunity to push forward cooperation between the two sides. Xu also introduced the Nishan Forum of SDU.

Prof. Park thanked SDU for the efforts they made for the performance and expected more cooperation between SDU and South Korea in cultural field.

Prior to the meeting, Xu and Prof. Park as well as his group visited an art exhibition of Prof. Li Ping and postgraduates of School of Fine Arts at SDU.
