On April 26th, a group headed by Hwang Seunghyun, Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao, paid a visit to Shandong University. SDU Vice President Lou Hongxiang met with them.

In the meeting, Lou expressed welcome over the visit by the consul general, and gave a brief introduction on the history of SDU as well as the exchange and cooperation between universities in Korea and SDU.

He mentioned that Shandong University had established friendly cooperative relations with over 20 universities and research institutes in the Republic of Korea (ROK), and developed different forms of academic and student activities.

Lou also expressed his hope that Hwang could pay attention to the development of SDU, and support the cooperation between universities and the transition of cooperative scientific research achievements among both sides’ companies.

Hwang stated that he was very happy to see the achievements of communication between the ROK and SDU, and he would further promote the communication between people of the two countries and cooperation in the fields of culture and education.

Both sides also discussed about matters of the gala to be held in SDU, which is aimed to celebrate this year's 20th anniversary of China-ROK diplomatic relations.

Tong Guangwu, Director of International Office of SDU, and some people in charge attended the meet.

During the visit, this group also visited SDU’s gymnasium, museum and the Chinese Culture Experience Hall on the central campus.
