From February 9th to 10th, the registration of international students for spring semester came to a close. More than 270 international students from 19 countries registered for this semester, including over 220 language learners and more than 50 undergraduates who are majoring in clinical medicine, which is taught in English.

With the aim to better serve the international students, the College of International Education paid much attention to the details of orientation work. Through the cooperation among different departments and streamlining the registration procedures, the College of International Education was able to successfully and satisfactorily serve all the incoming students. Supported by the “Cultivate China Experts” program of Gachon University, nearly 600 students have studied at Shandong University from 2005 to date. This year there were 66 new arrivals.

Shandong University will continue be a high quality institution for the learning of Chinese as a second language, improve the quality of education for international students and develop an international curriculum to meet the demand for the internationalization of higher education. With high-quality study-abroad programs, we hope to attract more international students to Shandong University, and to enhance the international influence and visibility of Shandong University.
