Renowned Chinese Law professional Prof. Ken Suzuki, and Constitutional Law expert Prof. Nobuhiro Okada from Hokkaido University, and Chinese Law specialist Prof. Yukinori Udagawa from Nagoya University recently visited Shandong University and gave lessons to the students at the School of Law. Furthermore, President of SDU Xu Xianming met with them.
In the meeting, President Xu introduced the university’s goal of becoming one of the world’s highest ranking universities, the construction of Qingdao Campus, SDU’s international development strategy, and measures for teaching curriculum reforms in SDU. Prof. Suzuki introduced the recent educational reforms in Japanese universities and admired the great changes and bright future of Shandong University. President Xu expects to enhance the communications between Japanese universities and SDU, with the help of Prof. Suzuki. They also looked back on their priceless experience and friendship together. Others who attended the meeting were Professor Qi Yanping, Dean of Law School of SDU, Prof. Mou Xiankui , and representatives from SDU’s International Office.
During the visit, Prof. Ken Suzuki, Prof. Okada and Prof Udagawa taught classes, such as A Comparison between Chinese and Japanese legal system, Human Rights Law and so on, to the undergraduate and graduate students at the School of Law.
Prof. Ken Suzuki is a world-famous expert in Comparative Law and Chinese Law, and was the President Assistant of Hokkaido University from 2005 to 2010. Professor Nobuhiro Okada is a distinguished scholar in Constitutional Law in Japan. Professor Yukinori Udagawa graduated from Hokkaido University. He is an outstanding scholar in Comparative Law and Chinese Law in Japan, who at present works as Presidential Advisor at Nagoya University.
