Shandong University undergraduate – Ji Xinjie stormed to victory in the men's 400m freestyle final with a time of result of 3:47.05 at China's 14th National Games in Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sept 19.
His was the 28th gold medal won by the Shandong sports delegation at this year's National Games.
The National Games, which is held every four years, is the biggest sports competition in the country.
This year's Games kicked off on Sept 15 and will last until Sept 27. More than 12,000 athletes are competing in the Games.
