The Dialogue with Shandong 2021：Sino-German Science and Technology Innovation Communication Conference was held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province on Oct 16, attracting representatives from Chinese and German universities, research institutes, and companies.

Wang Qilong, executive vice-president of Shandong University (SDU), said that the university has established cooperative relationships with many renowned German universities and top scientific research institutes in recent years. In 2016, SDU established the Sino German College to offer a high-level professional platform for mutual exchange between China and Germany.

This year marks the 120th anniversary of Shandong University, which will continue to advance scientific and technological innovation from a global perspective, build a university with a stronger international focus, and contribute to the world sci-tech progress, national and regional economic and social development, Wang said.

Wang added that SDU aims to be the forefront of science and technology, and will focus on improving its initial innovation ability as well as the capacity of offering key technologies. SDU will also launch a partner program, absorbing the world top disciplines, so as to be deeply integrated into the global innovation system, which functions as an open cooperation platform for exploring new paradigms and mechanisms of cooperation.

In addition, SDU will continue to promote international industry-university-research-application collaboration, to further boost high-level cooperation between China and Germany, as well as Shandong province and SDU.

More than 10 universities, sci-tech research institutes, and companies such as Steinbeis Transfer Centers and Herrenknecht AG Beijing Office promoted sci-tech projects on-site and conducted in-depth exchanges in related fields at the conference.
