Shandong University held the first Innovation Forum on Sustainable Food Supply online on Nov 20, attracting nearly 100 domestic and foreign experts, scholars, and companies' representatives.
The forum was organized by the School of Management and Social Hypernet Computing and Decision Simulation Laboratory and served as a platform for attendees to explore innovation in the sustainable food supply chain.
Meng Qingchun, deputy dean of the School of Management, spoke about the school's scientific achievements and talent cultivation efforts with regard to sustainable food supply.
Attendees gave presentations on topics related to food supply and food transportation. For instance, Liu Gang, a professor of the University of Southern Denmark, presented a report about the waste in food supply chain and the sustainable evaluation of food systems.
Xie Jingci, associate professor of the School of Management, Shandong University, spoke about the establishment of a research network for the sustainable food supply chain at the forum.
During the discussion session, attendees spoke about the innovative development of the sustainable food supply chain and the operation mechanism of its research network.
The forum, which was held in response to the national goals for reducing carbon emissions, aims to increase the influence of SDU's School of Management in the management of the supply chain.
