Cui Zhaojie, professor of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Shandong University (SDU) was elected as a foreign academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences, according to SDU on Nov 28.

Cui, a doctoral supervisor, is in charge of more than 110 major projects at national, provincial and enterprise levels. These projects include national key research and development programs in the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, the National 863 Program, national major "water projects"(scientific and technological project on water pollution control and treatment), projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as public welfare projects from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

Cui has also developed and revised more than 10 national, regional, or industrial standards. He has also published 10 academic monographs, as well as one hundred plus academic papers from sources like SCI and EI.

The Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences is one of the top academic institutions in Ukraine. It has more than 160 academicians and scholars, as well as 53 foreign academicians.
