Shandong University (SDU) and Westlake University (WLU),which is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, signed a cooperation agreement on Jan 11.

According to the agreement, both universities will work together to build a cooperation and consultation mechanism and academic communication and exchange mechanism as well as explore a new talent cultivation mechanism to attract high-level talent.

Fan Liming, president of SDU, introduced the university's efforts in talent cultivation, discipline construction, and technology innovation in recent years.

SDU and WLU both seek to improve high-level education and contribute to national strategic technology development, Fan said.

As a research-oriented university, WLU will take their partnership as an opportunity to perfect its own education, strengthen communication and exchange between universities, and meet the needs of national key strategies, said Shi Yigong, president of WLU.
