The first China National Budget Governance Forum was held at Shandong University (SDU) on Dec 26, during which a research alliance on China national budget governance was established.
The alliance is a professional, open, and non-profit academic community voluntarily formed by experts in economics, politics, law, and public management. It aims to carry out communications, academic research, information sharing, and talent cultivation related to national budget governance, said Fan Liming, president of SDU.
The establishment of the alliance was hosted by Shi Shaobin, deputy dean of the School of Economics, and Fanwas electedas the chairman of the alliance.
Several attendees gave presentations at the forum. Chen Changsheng, research fellow and director of the Department of Macroeconomic Research of the Development Research Center of the State Council, talked about the challenges and opportunities that fiscal and taxation management are facing in the digital economy.
Professor Shi Shaobin gave a report on his team's research on the theories, indicators, and applications of Local People's Congress's budget supervision.
The forum and the alliance establishment were held by SDU's School of Economics as well as the Center for Public Economy and Policy Research.
