Shandong University (SDU) was recently approved to join the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).
After joining, SDU will enjoy member rights and interests, such as participating in solutions initiatives and annual international conferences, collaborating in organizing student projects, and having access to online educational resources.
Established in 2012, the SDSN includes universities, research institutes, non-government organization, and social organizations.
Its goal is to gather and distribute professional scientific and technological resources around the world in order to promote sustainable development, implement sustainable development goals by solving practical problems on a national and global scale.
The SDSN also cooperates with other United Nations institutions, multilateral financing institutions, private sectors and civil societies.
To date, the SDSN is home to more than 40 national and regional networks.
SDU will make full use of the SDSN in the future as a platform for tightening connections with other members and expanding SDU's global partner network.
SDU will also expand its collaboration with the SDSN in areas such as talent development and sci-tech research and development to help the university achieve its goal of cultivating leading global talent and promoting sci-tech development in fields such as energy, electricity, and the environment.
