Shandong University (SDU) held an event on March 1 to unveil the national demonstration base for public entrepreneurship and innovation and the SDU entrepreneurship and innovation college headquarters.

Wu Zhen, vice-president of SDU, said that the establishment of the national demonstration base for public entrepreneurship and innovation and the SDU entrepreneurship and innovation college headquarters marks the new strategic cooperation between SDU and Licheng district in Jinan.

The national demonstration base and SDU college headquarters will select projects and teams with core intellectual property rights and transformable innovation achievements to meet the needs of national strategies, with a focus on developing core scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship that is supported by public welfare and services.

They also aim to support the establishment and management of start-ups, and encourage them to participate in competitions like the internet plus and iCAN.

At the event, Wang Qilong, vice-president of SDU, and Zhang Jun, Party secretary of Licheng district, distributed approvals to 14 projects by teams that have settled in the base.
