Shandong University (SDU) was ranked eighth among universities nationwide on the analysis report of the national college student competition in 2021, which was released by the China Association of Higher Education on Feb 22.

The assessment, which was launched in 2017 and focused on award-winning contributions, organizational contributions and research contributions, aggregates datafrom eachuniversity student competitions' from 2017 to 2021. SDU was ranked eighth with 793 awards and a total score of 91.06.

SDU attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship education.

SDU set up a university student science and technology innovation fund as well as sci-tech innovation award credits in 2003, and established the innovation education working committee in 2010. It also established a college of innovation and entrepreneurship in 2015 and wason the listof the second batch of national demonstration bases for public innovation and entrepreneurship in 2017.

Over the past years, SDU has formed an overall education system for innovation and entrepreneurship, which plays an important role in developing students' creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and practical ability.
