Shandong University (SDU) has 279 courses listed on the Smart Education of China online education platform, which was launched on March 28, and the university ranks fifth for the number of courses selected nationwide.

The 279 courses were chosen from online learning websites such as icourse163 because they offer high-quality online courses with a broad sharing range, strong application, and effective demonstration methodology.

SDU has been stepping up efforts in education informatization over the years. The university has established 385 online courses on various mainstream educational platforms since 2014, including 32 national top quality courses and 21 international English courses, with a total of 7.86 million learners.

SDU's online lessons cover various fields such as art, classical literature, basic medicine and clinical medicine.

Smart Education of China is a comprehensive and integrated platform for national education public services, involving learning, teaching, school management, and innovative education.

The official launch of this platform marked an achievement of the Ministry of Education's education digitalization strategy, and is an important step towards building a networked, digitized, personalized and lifelong education system.

SDU will take the platform's launch as an opportunity to develop online education and boost educational institutions' modernization with high-level education.
