Recently, Shandong University officially started the publication of the Journal of New Humanities and Social Sciences.
The journal is designed to be published quarterly with columns such as "research on philosophy and social science with Chinese characteristics", "theoretical frontiers", "disciplinary discussions", "exploration in education", and "development report", focusing on key, hot, and difficult issues related to the development of new liberal arts programs.
The journal will also publish the findings of new liberal arts research and investigation in order to foster academic exchanges and experience sharing, as well as theoretical and practical innovations in the field.
The journal's first issue features discussions and opinions from experts and professionals such as Fan Liming, president of SDU, Liao Xiangzhong, president of the Communication University of China, Xu Jiang, former president of the China Academy of Art, Yu Jianxing, president of Zhejiang Gongshang University, and Cui Yanqiang, vice-president of Southwest University on topics such as the goal, history, future, innovative development, and policies of constructing new liberal arts programs.
The inaugural issue also includes experts' and professionals' high-end research achievements in sectors spanning literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, education, and art.
In addition, the inaugural issue shares insightful examples from Peking University and Renmin University of China in developing new liberal arts programs.
Fan Liming is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of New Humanities and Social Sciences, and Wang Xuedian, executive president of the Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, is the executive editor-in-chief.
