Li Shucai was recently appointed the president of Shandong University (SDU) and deputy secretary of SDU's Party committee by the central government.

The decision was announced by Li Xiaoxin, deputy head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Director of the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform, during a meeting held at SDU on June 22, 2022.

Tian Xuejun, a member of the CPC Leading Group of the Ministry of Education and Vice Minister of Education, and Wang Yuyan, a Member of Standing Committee of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Organization Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, attended and addressed the meeting.

Guo Xinli，Secretary of the CPC Shandong University Committee presided over the meeting.

Li Shucai, born in 1965, is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He once served as the vice president of Shandong University.
