On July 21, the launch ceremony for establishing the International Medical Chinese Education Collaborative Innovation Center, which was jointly initiated by Shandong University (SDU), Shandong First Medical University (SDFMU) and Ningxia Medical University, was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Han Shenghao, vice-president of SDU, said that establishing the International Medical Chinese Education Collaborative Innovation Center is an important measure to implement the national language and writing education in the new era, especially to the innovative development of international Chinese education.

Han also told the center what he expected from it in terms of leading and fostering interdisciplinary formation features, providing Chinese language and professional skills to international talents, and combining traditional Chinese culture with medical education.

Liu Chuanyong, vice-president of SDFMU, introduced the university's Chinese education for international students majoring in medicine, and said that as a founding member, the university will contribute to curriculum building, resources sharing, teaching materials development and other aspects to promote the cultivation of international medical talents.

Zhu Jianhua, deputy Party secretary of Ningxia Medical University, expressed his gratitude to SDU for its long-term support. He also introduced the training system for international students majoring in medicine at Ningxia Medical University, especially the characteristics and advantages for cultivating medical talents from countries and regionsalongthe Belt and Road.

The participants discussed topics in fostering the growth of Chinese education in medicine and cultivating international Chinese educational talents.
