Shandong University (SDU) and Yamaguchi University held an online signing ceremony on Nov 15 to continue to deepen cooperation in areasofstudent exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and the establishment of a satellite office.
Li Shucai, president of SDU, reviewed the 40-year history of cooperation between the two universities and affirmed the achievements they have made in talent training, scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges.
Li said that he hopes the two universities will take this agreement as an opportunity to boost practical cooperation in teacher exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and student cultivation, so that to inject more impetus into the exchanges and common development between the two universities and even China and Japan.
Tanizawa Yukio, president of Yamaguchi University, said SDU was the first overseas university to sign a cooperation agreement with Yamaguchi, and he expects to conduct more cooperation in more fields with SDU.
Yamaguchi University was the first Japanese university that SDU cooperated with.The two universities began exchanges and cooperation in 1979 and officially signed their cooperation agreement in 1983, carrying out long-term cooperation between scholars, faculty, and students and forming practical partnership in Arts and Sciences, Medicine and other fields.
