The Shandong University (SDU) Symphony Orchestra held the "Classical Voice" Symphony Concert at SDU's Concert Hall, Mengdi Concert Hall in Baotuquan Campus and the Concert Hall of the Shandong Provincial Capital Culture and Art Center Grand Theater from March 29 to 31.
Themed on "Farewell to the 2023 Graduates", the concert was sponsored by the Aesthetic Education Committee of SDU and managed by the Fine Arts School of SDU. Kong Nan from the Fine Arts School of SDU was the conductor and Dong Lechen served as the clarinet soloist.
The performance covered two large programs including the overture to Mozart's early operaIl Re Pastore, or The Shepherd King, andClarinet Concerto in A major, and Haydn's Symphony No 97 in C Major.
The concert enabled communication and interaction with the audience in a relaxed atmosphere and strong sense of resonance.
During the concert, An Ning, dean of the Fine Arts School of SDU, handed out honorary certificates to Excellent Orchestra Members for the graduates.
The school also expanded aesthetic education through innovative activities including the four-day orchestra open day, a musical class and a ticket-grabbing event.
Established in 2008, SDU Symphony Orchestra has been committed to the promotion and dissemination of art for 15 years, playing an important role in vitalizing the campus cultural atmosphere and enhancing students' aesthetic literacy.
SDU Symphony Orchestra has won many awards in major domestic art competitions. In 2022, it was named "Shandong High-Level College Student Art Troupe".
