The Shandong University (SDU) swimming team achieved remarkable results at the 2023 Shandong Province University Students Swimming Championships, which took place in Rizhao city of Shandong province from April 26 to 28.

Led by coaches Chen Weiran and Pan Yang, the team won 13 gold, 20 silver, and eight bronze medals.

In the competition, 11 SDU athletes from the high-level swimming team won eight gold, 13 silver, and seven bronze medals. This was the first time SDU's high-level swim team has topped the provincial championship since 2018.

Six non-professional athletes from SDU's School of Electrical Engineering, School of Software, School of Philosophy and Social Development, Taishan College, School of Management, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering won five gold, seven silver, and one bronze medals. Bi Wenxin, Bian Zhiyu, Zheng Yuxin and Ge Kaiyao received the title of "Excellent Athletes".

Hosted by the Shandong Provincial School Sports Federation, the event attracted nearly 200 athletes from universities including SDU, Ocean University of China and Shandong Agricultural University.
