The 2023 summer school program of Shandong University (SDU) started on July 3 in the Jinan, Weihai and Qingdao campuses.

The program offers a comprehensive approach to learning, with a combination of online lectures and offline practice. It covers a broad range of topics, including general knowledge, professional knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship, and cultural experience. Students can expect to gain a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in their chosen field.

In addition, there will be 260 courses that focus on cutting-edge international academic advances and will be delivered by overseas experts.

SDU has hosted the summer school program for 19 consecutive years since 2004, as part of its efforts to innovate the teaching mode and broaden students' horizons.

Over the past years, the program has introduced a series of curricula featuring interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary subjects in response to the new round of sci-tech revolution and industrial transformation.

The "Biomedical Big Data" course offered by the School of Software provides opportunities for students who are interested in exploring data-driven biomedical research. This course will be especially beneficial for students who may not have much experience or knowledge in using machine learning techniques for processing. With such a course, students are set to gain a better understanding of how to handle and analyze big data in the biomedical field.

In addition, the summer school program has increased the number of humanities and aesthetic education courses, such as city tours, traditional culture experience, and piano. It has integrated humanistic ideas into the teaching of various disciplines.
