On June 18, Shandong University's 2023 graduation ceremony for undergraduate students was held at the sports arena located on Shandong University's central campus.

During the ceremony, Vice President Wu Zhen announced the decision to commend the outstanding graduates of the class of 2023. Guo Xinli, Secretary of the Party Committee of SDU, presented certificates to the representatives of the outstanding graduates.

In his speech, Li Shucai, president of SDU, shared four profound expectations with the graduating class. He emphasized the importance of unwavering ideals and beliefs, the cultivation of enhanced cognitive thinking, the pursuit of lifelong learning, and the embodiment of a diligent work ethic and a down-to-earth attitude.

Following the ceremony, the degree-awarding Ceremony took place. Students went on the stage in groups of 30, receiving their degree certificates from the university leaders, the members of Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, and the representatives of experts and scholars of SDU.

Before the ceremony started, videos related to memories of SDU were played, recalling the moments and familiar faces during their university years, igniting waves of cheers and excitement. The graduates performed flash mob songs So Many People in This World and At the Crossroads Where Phoenix Flowers Bloom, resonating with the audience and receiving enthusiastic applause.

During the commencement, the students from the Fine Arts School sang songs such as Eight Horses Sharing the Same Manger and On the Field of Hope, presenting an audio-visual feast for the graduates.

The event also provided three video sub-venues at the Zhixin Building, the Science Hall, and the Little Grove for parents of graduates to participate remotely.
