A conference highlighting sci-tech innovation was held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on June 20.

The aim of the conference is to create a good environment for innovative development and providing key support for the constructing Shandong into a strong modern socialist province in the new era. A total of 213 projects or individuals obtained the 2022 Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Award during the conference, among which SDU won 36 awards.

Zhou Naixiang, governor of Shandong, conferred the prizes to the winners.

As the host institution, SDU won 22 top awards, including six first prizes and 16 second prizes. Professor Cui linlin from the Second Hospital of SDU got the Science and Technology Youth Award, and professor Cao Yihai, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and distinguished professor of Qilu Hospital of SDU, won the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

Two research achievements – "Key Technology and Equipment Development and Application of Lightweight High-Performance Component Microcellular Foaming Molding" led by professor Zhao Guoqun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and "Complete Set of Materials and Engineering Applications for Efficient Intelligent Shield Tunneling and Operation Guarantee of Urban Rail Transit" led by professor Li Shuchen from the School of Qilu Transportation - won the first prizes of the Shandong Provincial Technical Invention Award.

The first prizes of the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award were granted to research undertakings like "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Large-size Lithium Niobate Single Crystal Film Preparation” led by professor Hu Hui from the School of Physics, "Research and Promotion of Key Technologies for Minimally Invasive Diagnosis and Treatment of Lung Cancer Based on ERAS Concept" led by professor Tian Hui from Qilu Hospital, "Establishment and Application of Key Technologies and Systems for Improving the Quality of Rescue and Treatment Based on Cardiac Arrest Investigation" led by professor Xu Feng from Qilu Hospital, and "Establishment and Promotion of A Whole-process Precision Diagnosis and Treatment Technology System for Brain Gliomas" led by professor Li Gang from Qilu Hospital.
