A delegation from Shandong University took part in the third roundtable conference of the "CAMPUS Asia Program", which was held at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from July 25 to 29.
The conference was also attended by representatives from Nagasaki University in Japan, Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and National University of Laos.
During the event, participants highlighted the achievements of the CAMPUS Asia Program in recent years and spoke about its vital role in promoting exchanges among universities in the fields of dual-degree joint training, short-term exchanges, and cooperative scientific research.
The CAMPUS Asia Program is a cross-border student mobility program among South Korea, Japan, and China.
The Asia Intercollegiate Cooperative Project for Nurturing Global Leaders in Sustainable Infrastructure Development, jointly declared by Shandong University, Nagasaki University, Sungkyunkwan University, Nanyang Technological University, and the National University of Laos, was included in the third phase of the CAMPUS Asia Program in 2021.
During the conference, the representatives from the five sides discussed about developing student exchange projects with Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Laos, establishing international joint laboratories, and initiating interdisciplinary efforts to construct a public artificial intelligence resource platform.
The SDU delegation also visited the Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. During the visit, the delegation held discussions with National University of Singapore's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering on topics such as joint doctoral training.
A consensus was reached between SDU and Nanyang Technological University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering to further enhance joint training of engineering students and establish a collaborative research institute.
