Teams from Shandong University won 15 awards at the recent 10th China Engineering Robot Competition and International Open, which was held at Anhui University of Technology in Wuhu, Anhui Province.
Nearly 1,702 teams from 147 colleges and universities across China, including Tsinghua University, Air Force Engineering University, and Naval Aviation University, participated the competition.
The competition featured 20 categories, including engineering competitive robots, underwater robots, rescue robots, bipedal walking robots, engineering off-road robots, and intelligent technology robots.
Sixteen teams from the School of Control Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering in Shandong University secured four first prizes, four second prizes, and seven third prizes at the competition.
Shandong University also won the best organization award for the 10th anniversary of the engineering competition, while Professor Chen Yanjun from the university won the best referee award.
The China Engineering Robot Competition and International Open is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Innovation Method Teaching Steering Committee and the International Engineering Robot Federation. It is currently the largest, most influential and professional robot competition in China.
