The ninth Choral Culture and Art Festival and the first Art Troupe Educational Achievements Exhibition of Shandong University kicked off at the university's Baotuquan campus on May 27.
Experts from the Shandong Province Musicians Association and Shandong Province Choral Alliance served as judges while student representatives from each school formed the review committee.
The choirs performed songs that reflect youthful vigor and energy, as well as the determination to advance the country's development and prosperity.
Ace Tone from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering sang Jasmine Flower and showcased the charm of Asian culture. Helloworld from the School of Software performed Raising the Wind-Blown Flag, which highlighted the belief of the Chinese under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, while the choir from the School of Marxism sang Ten Farewells to the Red Army to remind youth to never forget their aspirations and strive forward.
The First Clinical Medical School, the School of Basic Medical Sciences and the School of Economics won the special prizes in the competition. The School of History and Culture, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Physics, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Foreign Languages and Literature and the School of Philosophy and Social Development won first prizes.
