Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Adelaide (UA), visited Shandong University (SDU) on May 30 to enhance the strategic partnership the two institutions have on student exchange and research collaboration.
SDU President Li Shucai expressed optimism about expanding collaborative efforts to further strengthen their alliance while Gallagher stressed about the importance of regularly updating the collaboration memorandum and offering support for joint ventures in key disciplines.
The universities also discussed broadening cooperation in fields such as humanities, social sciences, medicine, and engineering. Both institutions also agreed to create a cooperative mechanism to boost their strategic partnership.
Representatives from both universities then explored ways to implement joint master's degree programs, medical research internships, and reciprocal staff training initiatives.
UA, which is part of Australia's "Group of Eight" (a group of Australian leading universities), was ranked 109th in the QS World University Rankings 2023. Since initiating the intercollegiate agreement in 1985, SDU and UA have maintained active academic exchanges across various fields.
