Shandong University won four gold medals, five silver medals, eight bronze medals and 11 excellence awards during the grand finals of the second National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which were held in Yantai, Shandong province from Oct 25 to 28.
Team Shandong University led both the gold medal count and the overall medal count in the second place at the Competition. The university also won the Outstanding Organization Award.

The National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest, highest-level and most comprehensive postdoctoral national competition held since the implementation of China's postdoctoral system.
This year's competition, with the theme "Empowering Development with Wisdom, Leading the Future with Innovation," featured seven fields, including next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, biomedicine and health, modern agriculture and food, marine development and applications.
A total of 6,206 postdoctoral projects from both domestic and international participants registered, with 25,000 participants. Shandong University's delegation had a total of 56 team projects advance to the grand finals.
During the competition, activities also took place to showcase postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship achievements, and facilitate exchanges between talent and projects.
Shandong University set up three exhibition booths to showcase cutting-edge innovations and promote its postdoctoral recruitment policies. Some projects attracted significant interest from various venture capital institutions.
