Ten faculty members and students from Shandong University were recognized at the Baosteel Education Awards ceremony in Shanghai on Nov 18.
Wang Junhao, an undergraduate student from the university's School of Mechanical, Electrical and Information Engineering, achieved the highest score in the evaluation, earning the Outstanding Student Award.
Professor Wang Guanghui from the School of Mathematics, Professor Shi Shaobin from the School of Economics, and Professor Wang Zhenya from the School of Mechanical Engineering were awarded the Excellent Teacher Award.
The Baosteel Education Award, funded by the Baosteel Education Foundation, has been established for over 30 years. It is among the most prestigious national awards in higher education in China and has recognized over 30,000 faculty members and students from across the country.
Since 2018, six students from different majors at Shandong University have received the Baosteel Outstanding Student Award.
In recent years, the university has taken it as its mission to cultivate the most outstanding undergraduate students and the most creative graduate students, continuously enhancing efforts to train urgently-needed high-level talent for the country.
The university's undergraduate students have received the Baosteel Outstanding Student Award for six consecutive years, reflecting the remarkable achievements the university has made in the comprehensive development of students in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills—nurturing well-rounded and talented individuals.
