Zhang Chenghui, chair professor of Shandong University, also dean of the School of Control Science and Engineering of Shandong University, was awarded the 14th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize at an award ceremony in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Nov 30.
The Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize, founded by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is regarded as the highest award in the engineering industry in China. It recognizes Chinese engineers and scientists who have made outstanding achievements and important contributions in the field of engineering science and technology and management.
So far, three scholars from Shandong University have received the award. They are Wang Wenxing, Li Shucai, and Zhang.
Zhang and his team have made breakthroughs in developing key control technology of new energy grid-connected equipment with large capacity, high reliability and high efficiency, and developed two types of core grid-connected equipment - photovoltaic power generation control and new energy power quality control.
