The International Academic Conference on Values of Political Parties and Human Civilization, the 12th Chinese Political Party Research Forum and the 3rd Political Party Theory Doctoral Student Forum were held in Jinan, Shandong province from Dec 2 to 3.
The conferences aimed to explore the important principles of political parties around the globe and governance amidst the unprecedented changes during this century, as well as summarize the basic experiences of practical innovation, theoretical exploration, and civilizational contributions of the Communist Party of China.

GuoXinli, Party secretary of Shandong University said in his keynote speech at the conference that political parties are an important force for promoting the progress of human civilization.
He hoped that scholars will take this conference as an opportunity to engage in in-depth exchanges, mutual learning, and collaboration in order to contribute to the development of political parties around the globe and facilitate cross-cultural communication between China and other civilizations. Shandong University will further expand its global vision to promote Chinese civilization around the world, he said.
Chen Zhigang, vice-president of the Institute of Marxism at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, also stressed the important role of political parties in promoting human civilizations.
Zhang Shihai, dean of School of Marxism at Shandong University, said that exploring the values of political parties from the perspective of human civilization can provide intellectual support for promoting the high-quality development of party politics in the new era.
Nearly 200 scholars from 17 countries including China, Russia, Cuba, South Africa, Argentina, Spain, and Peru participated in the conferences.
