Shandong University and Sungkyunkwan University renewed their memorandum of cooperation at the central campus of Shandong University (SDU) on March 27, in an effort to continue to carry out academic exchanges and teacher-student exchanges as well as cooperate on management personnel training.
Li Shucai, president of Shandong University, and Yoo Ji-Beom, president of Sungkyunkwan University, attended the signing ceremony. In his speech, Li reviewed the cooperation and exchange that has taken place between the two sides over the past 30 years.
He hoped that the two universities would establish a regular cooperation mechanism, further expand cooperation, promote personnel exchanges, and strengthen industry-university-research cooperation.
Yoo said that Sungkyunkwan University will make efforts to promote cooperation between the two sides, deepen academic cooperation and contribute to solving common problems faced by mankind and important global issues.

During the ceremony, Li awarded Yoo, the honorary professorship certificate of Shandong University. After the ceremony, they jointly planted a "Tree of Friendship", symbolizing walking hand in hand, and commemorating profound friendship.
Sungkyunkwan University, founded in 1398, is a comprehensive research university in South Korea. Shandong University and Sungkyunkwan University established cooperative ties in the 1980s, focusing on academic exchanges, student cultivation, and personnel exchanges.
