International students from Shandong University (SDU) participated in the "Shandong Tour of Central and Eastern European Envoys" event in Qingzhou, a county-level city under the administration of Weifang city, on April 19.
This activity was organized by SDU to celebrate International Chinese Language Day. It was designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore the cultural heritage and traditional cuisine of not only Weifang, but also Central and Eastern European countries.
At Qingzhou Museum, international students marveled at the museum's extensive collection of cultural relics. They also learned about China's rich history and profound cultural heritage.
At a cultural exhibition, students were delighted by the diverse array of exhibits that featured Weifang kites, Gaomi paper-cutting, Zibo glazed artworks.
During the activity, the students communicated with envoys and media representatives from countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia, and Hungary. They shared their academic experiences and life on campus, as well as their endeavors in learning Chinese, embracing Chinese culture, and their aspirations for future career development.
This was the opening activity for the "Shandong University 2024 International Chinese Language Day" event series. Shandong University is working to offer students at home and abroad more opportunities to experience Shandong culture.
