Traditional Chinese culture was highlighted at Shandong University during a month-long promotional event organized by the School of History and the School of Archaeology of the university.
The event provided students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture through a series of experiential activities.
For instance, an art contest featuring the 12 Chinese zodiac signs received 197 submissions showcasing Chinese zodiac culture through various mediums such as paper-cuttings, clay sculptures, videos, and pictures.
Additionally, a photography exhibition focused on cultural relics was held, showcasing the achievements of Shandong University's Archaeological team and the progress of Chinese civilization, while a lecture on the evolution and origin of hanfu attire was organized, allowing students to explore the unique charms of traditional Chinese costume.
At a cultural fair held during the event, visitors were captivated by intangible cultural heritage items, including paper-cutting, traditional Chinese medicine, musical instruments, velvet flowers, and dough sculptures. The practitioners of these cultural traditions were also invited to demonstrate their crafts, adding to the richness of the cultural experience.
