The Art College at Shandong University hosted a heartwarming art exhibition in Weihai, Shandong province from April 30 to May 5, showing increased support and care for children with autism.
The art exhibition featured five main areas, focusing on painting, interaction, photography, cultural creations, and artwork sales. It was aimed at connecting autistic children with the outside world by leveraging the power of art and helping visitors better understand them.
With the support of 300 dedicated volunteers, the exhibition attracted over 1,500 attendees in person and garnered significant attention online with over 37,000 viewers. It provided a platform for children with autism to showcase their talents.
The "Painting Heals Heart" team from the Art College at Shandong University, the organizing body behind the exhibition, has been actively involved in assisting autistic children since its establishment in 2021. The team has focused on intervention research and voluntary support in visual therapy to improve the perceptual abilities of children with autism.
