The College of International Education at Shandong University launched a cultural teaching volunteer activity in Queshan county, Henan province from May 10 to 11.
The activity is part of the "Three Classes" assistance project run by Shandong University, which features public courses focusing on three areas - traditional Chinese culture, diverse global civilizations and teaching methods for rural teachers.
Volunteers introduced students in Queshan to traditional Chinese art forms, including plant dyeing, lacquer fan making, and movable type printing. Through public classes, participants not only learnt these crafts but also delved into their historical backgrounds and evolutionary paths.
International students of Shandong University from Russia, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Tajikistan, held courses showcasing the cultures of their countries. These courses helped local pupils gain insights into different cultures and experience the diversity of the world from an international perspective.
