The month-long Shandong University Library Cultural Festival, which kicked off on April 23, offered a diverse array of activities celebrating the joy of reading.
The festival, themed "Joyful Reading, Youthful Enjoyment", included 18 activities featuring a mix of classic literature, professional reading, digital reading and cultural experiences.
A series of academic lectures and specialized reading sessions were also featured. Professor Yao Boyue from the Institute of Ancient Book Preservation of Tianjin Normal University was invited to share his views on ancient book preservation and cultural heritage.
A book exhibition and an entertaining physics knowledge competition were held through the joint efforts of Shandong University Library and the School of Physics of Shandong University, fostering an enriching intellectual experience for students.
Activities such as the "Marvel of Paper: From Papermaking to Bookbinding Culture" experience and an exhibition of ancient book restoration achievements were held. These events aimed to promote awareness and development of ancient book preservation.
People also had the chance to experience traditional cultural activities such as pitch-pot, archery, incense burning and seal engraving, and calligraphy.
