The 2024 graduation ceremony for Shandong University postgraduate students was held at the sports arena of the university's central campus on June 24.
Ren Youqun, Party secretary of Shandong University, attended the ceremony and presented certificates to representatives of outstanding graduates of the 2024 class. Li Shucai, president of Shandong University, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony, in which he expressed three farewell messages to graduates.
Firstly, he urged students to embrace responsibility and become pioneers in serving the nation's development. Secondly, he encouraged them to strive for excellence in innovation and take the lead in achieving scientific and technological self-reliance and strength. Lastly, he advised them to maintain a steadfast commitment and set an example through persistent efforts and hard work. He expressed hope that they would always uphold resilience, determination, and integrity, remain focused on their goals, and achieve their youthful dreams through perseverance and dedication.
Professor Wang Guanghui from the School of Mathematics at Shandong University recalled important historical moments and shared with the 2024 class in his speech. Drawing on stories of senior scholars from the School of Mathematics, he encouraged graduates to define their life coordinates with a sense of national pride, climb life's peaks with resilience and determination, and explore boundless horizons with wisdom and innovation.
