Shandong University Professor Arokia Nathan was honored with the 2024 Chinese Government Friendship Award in Beijing on Sept 30 for his research achievements in microelectronics and nanotechnology, which have had a significant impact on China's innovation and development.
Professor Nathan is a Chair Professor of the School of Information Science and Engineering at Shandong University, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.
Through his support, Shandong University has made remarkable progress in the construction of information science discipline, personnel training, scientific research and innovation, and faculty recruitment.
Nathan said that the friendship award is a great honor and he will continue to contribute to the academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation between China and foreign countries.
Established in 1991, the Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest honor to commend foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's modernization efforts. In 2024, 100 foreign experts received the award.
