Ren Youqun, Party secretary of Shandong University, met with a delegation led by Yu Feng, president of Honeywell China, on Nov 21.
During the meeting, Ren introduced the history and recent developments of Shandong University. He emphasized the university's strong efforts on industry-university integration and expressed optimism about the broad prospects for collaboration between Shandong University and Honeywell.
He called on both parties to leverage their respective strengths to expand cooperation in areas such as innovative cultivation of engineering talent, efficient application of research achievements in industry and the development of a low-carbon smart campus, and working together to drive sustainable development and industrial upgrading.
Yu provided an overview of Honeywell's development history and business domains. He noted Honeywell's deep roots in the Chinese market and its keen interest in collaborations between universities and enterprises.
He expressed the company's desire to work with Shandong University on initiatives related to professional talent cultivation, technological innovation, environmentally friendly campus operations, and the establishment of industry standards in order to promote the development of new quality productive forces.
Following the meeting, the delegation engaged in discussions with various departments and relevant officials of the university to explore specific areas of collaboration and partnership models.
Founded in 1885, Honeywell, headquartered in New Jersey, USA, was one of the first foreign companies to enter the Chinese market. Honeywell's business in China now spans across four major sectors: aerospace, automation control systems, advanced materials and technologies, and transportation systems.
