Shandong University held a celebratory party at its central campus in Jinan on Jan 22 to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival which falls on Jan 29 this year.

Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University and the university's president Li Shucai attended the gathering and extended their Chinese New Year greetings.

Ren highlighted that Shandong University achieved new heights during the course of last year, with its influence and reputation steadily on the rise.

He also stated that in 2025 the university would continue to extend its efforts to contribute to building China into a leading country in the field of education, with greater determination.

Li introduced the university's reform and development highlights of 2024. During his speech, he also emphasized key achievements including strengthening the faculty's development, advancing its academic disciplines to meet national strategies and achieving breakthroughs in scientific research.

Li stressed that in 2025 the university would continue to head towards world-class status, uphold its spirit and culture, and integrate education, research and talent reforms to contribute to Chinese modernization.

A series of art performances by the Fine Arts School of Shandong University were staged during the event, and a buoyant atmosphere was created.

Attendees exchanged Chinese New Year's greetings, celebrated their strong bonds and shared aspirations for future development.
