Shandong University teams achieved outstanding results at the 23rd Chinese National Round of Jessup International Law Moot Court, held at China University of Political Science and Law on Feb 17.
Both the main team and the Weihai campus team from the university's School of Law earned national first-place awards.
The Weihai team excelled in legal research and simulated courtroom debates, securing ninth place overall. The main team focused on complex international law issues such as jurisdiction, immunity, and government legitimacy, finishing 12th overall. Both teams advanced through rigorous training, perfecting their oral abilities, courtroom etiquette, and time management skills.
The Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, often referred to as the "Olympics" of the international moot court world, has been held 65 times.
The competition is organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA) and features both national and international rounds.
The 2025 national round saw a record 66 teams participating from top Chinese universities, including Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, Renmin University of China, and Tsinghua University.
