Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University, met with a delegation led by Li Ling, President of the China-Europe Association for Humanistic Exchanges, from March 6 to 8.
Ren stated that Shandong University, located in the birthplace of Confucius, has a strong tradition in humanities and history while also possessing a comprehensive academic advantage.
The university maintains close educational exchanges and cooperation with a number of European countries, he said. As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the China-EU diplomatic ties, the university will strengthen artistic collaboration, enhance aesthetic education, develop distinctive projects, and explore new interdisciplinary cooperation models to deepen cooperation between China and Europe.
Li stated that the China-Europe Association for Humanistic Exchanges is committed to promoting mutual understanding through people-to-people exchanges. She expressed a desire to carry out more exchange activities with Shandong University, using art as a medium to develop a unique China-Europe humanities and education platform.
The China-Europe Association for Humanistic Exchanges is a non-profit organization registered in France, aimed at promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe in the fields of education, healthcare, culture, and international communication.
In 2024, Shandong University collaborated with the association to host a series of cultural exchange activities, including a Sino-French youth music salon and an international music festival.
